Corporate Immigration Policy Template
A starting template for documenting your organization's immigration policy.
Written for: Organisations formalising an internal immigration policy for the first time.
What this covers
Once an organisation sponsors more than a handful of foreign nationals, ad hoc decisions start to create inconsistency — and inconsistency is what turns an individual issue into a pattern a regulator can see. A written policy fixes the decisions in advance, when nobody is under time pressure.
This template provides the structure of a corporate immigration policy: scope and ownership, who approves what, how roles are assessed for permit eligibility before an offer is made, document and record-keeping standards, renewal governance, and how exceptions are handled and logged.
Each section includes drafting notes explaining the decision the section is really making, so the policy reflects how your organisation actually operates rather than importing someone else's assumptions. It is deliberately written to be adapted — we note which provisions are structural and which are yours to set.
- Policy scope, ownership and approval authority
- Assessing roles for permit eligibility before an offer
- Document and record-keeping standards
- Renewal governance and escalation
- Handling and logging exceptions
- Drafting notes for adapting each section
Prepared by the CKN Civis Africa advisory team. This resource is general information about Kenyan immigration practice, not legal advice on your specific circumstances — for that, book a consultation.
Available on request. Rather than an instant download, an advisor prepares and sends the current version — immigration rules change often enough that a stale document does more harm than none.
